Support the Race for the Cure
On May 10, 2007, the anual Race for the Cure will be taking place in downtown, Washington DC. This event helps to raise money and awareness for the treatment of primary and metastatic brain tumors, and is an important step on the path to ultimately finding a cure.
Please help us support this event by either participating in the Race - or walk, no need to run - or helping to sponsor our team by visiting the Team Mimi site and making a donation in whatever amount you can afford.
'Talk About Her' Shirts Now Available!
We've created a t-shirt concept and design intended to both honor the memory of Mary Ann Powers and encourage questions and dialog about brain tumors in general.
Take a look at our designs, and thanks to the good folks over at Zazzle, you can customize the style, size and color of the shirt before you buy one. Be sure to order soon so you can have it in time for the Race!
About This Site
GBM is short for glioblastoma multiforme, one of the many types of primary brain tumors, the most common, and by far the most deadly.
The fight against brain tumors is just beginning. Only within the past few years have we learned enough about the inner workings of our bodies to be able to start crafting real solutions for increasing the lifespan and quality of life for brain tumor survivors.
In order to find a cure, we need to build awareness of what brain tumors are, how they impact the lives of everyone in the community, and how we all as individuals can help.
Get Involved!
There are lots of ways to help. Consider sponsoring our team in the Race for the Cure, purchasing custom hoola hoops with proceeds going to the Brain Tumor Society, or getting involved with a brain tumor support group near you.
